If your spring break travels take you away from your favorite exercise path or machine, seek out other opportunities where you visit. It may be easier than you think, if the weather is right, it might not cost a thing.
Cabin trip: This could be an easy one. A hike in the woods is a must! Is there a hill or mountain near you? Try running sprints up and down the incline. Pack a mountain bike if you’re a rider or see if you can borrow or rent one.
Beach vacation: Even if you’re not normally a runner, try a short jog on the beach. You may like it! Take a long, brisk walk with a friend or plug in your earphones and listen to a podcast or bestseller. If your mind is in tune to that, your exercise time may last longer.
Staycation: Not going anywhere? You can still change up your routine. If you haven’t visited a local mountain to climb since your teen years, take the challenge! The Valley has many options. Just don’t forget the water. Have kids in tow? Bring them along! Even a 3-year-old can climb up an easy trail of Piestawa Peak. Don’t plan on a brisk walk, but it’s still a great way to get the family outdoors to enjoy the outdoor weather before summer arrives.
Water, water, water! Even if you’re in a cooler climate, don’t forget to hydrate!
